I am in favor of juicing as well as blending.  High nutrient values can be achieved by juicing or blending.  The down side?  You have to get to the produce section of the grocery store more often and the cost of produce may be somewhat prohibitive for some.  The minor clean-up afterword may also be a deterrent for a few. Periodically, I will be posting some recipes for healthy smoothies, juices, foods, etc.  Today's V-8 Juice recipe is fantastic.  I have made it before.  You can pare this down if you don't want this quantity.  Making this is worth it! 10-15 pounds fully ripe tomatoes, chopped 2 cups chopped celery 1 onion, chopped 2 cloves garlic, minced/mashed 1/4 cup sugar or raw honey or Agave nectar salt to taste 3/4 teaspoon black pepper 2 teaspoons prepared horseradish 1/3 cup lemon juice Worcestershire, to taste (Add a dash or two of Liquid smoke if desired) Over medium high heat bring the...

An inflammatory issue in the lining of the bladder occurs mostly with women.  It is not known why it occurs nor why it is mostly with women.  Unfortunately, it can't be combated with antibiotics nor with any of the traditional natural cures either unless it is a bacterial induced IC. (Cranberry juice only makes it worse.) It is painful for those that endure this problem and certain foods seem to make it worse.  The timeline is generally somewhat short lived and for known reason it eventually just goes away. As written in previous blogs, anti-inflammatory foods seem to help a...

Several nights ago, there was a lengthy program on television raising money for cancer awareness.  Where the dollars would ultimately go was not indicated.  They used the words "cancer research" many times. So, if physicians and others get more money, they will be more motivated to find a cure?  Medical health care costs are now astronomical.  Cancer drugs are ridiculously high. (As well as all drugs) Physicians are getting incredible salaries and compensation.  In turn of course, insurance rates are increasing.  Our emotions are touched because most of us have lost a friend or loved one to cancer and it...

Magnesium is very important for heart function.  The tricky part is to get enough without reaching bowel intolerance.  There is a product called CALM which is a powder you mix with water at night which is straight Magnesium Citrate.  It is very commonly found in health food stores. Also, these other items have a scientific base for improving A-fib.   Taurine, Coenzyme-Q-10 or Ubiquinol, L-Carnitine, Fish Oil (choose one that is high in EPA/DHA. No less than 1,000mg in total EPA/DHA each day), D-Ribose, Hawthorn Berry, and Vitamin D at 3,000 iu per day. See the blog list previously posted of...
